CF10 Service won't start

I have a Windows 2008 R2 server that has ColdFusion 10 installed on it, with the latest patches at this time. The ColdFusion service will no longer start. If i manually run the cfstart.bat file inside of the coldfusion directory it starts fine and all the websites work. But this is not a good solution as it stops if the user logs off. The service fails and gives a timeout message in windows services, in the event log it errors at Event id 1053 with application error 261 unknown.
